Eoghan Lyng: Writer

Right, this is a blog I’ve put together.

It’s been half a decade of throwing ideas on paper with the vigorous splash Jackson Pollock threw over his paintings. Pollock’s abstract expressionism won him many favours- I tried to imitate him through a typewriter!

Time to knuckle down, as they say, an expression I heard a thousand times throughout my Leaving Certificate year in 2011.

Writing credits of mine include:

-Record Collector

-Far Out

-New Sounds

-Culture Sonar

-We Are Cult

-The Irish Post

The James Bond Dossier

The Phacemag

-The Digital Fix

-The Prague Post

-Vada Magazine

-Punk Noir Magazine

Taste of Cinema

-Ezine Articles

-MI6 Confidential

-Maccazine (a McCartney fanzine)

Between these publications I have interviewed  Cobie Smulders, Eric Stewart, Graham Gouldman, Kristin Hersh, Colin Moulding, Denny Seiwell, Denny Laine, Marianne Farley, Arthur Matthews,Roger McGuinn, Carl Davis, Franc Roddam and Matthew Holness.

Shindig Magazine referenced an interview I undertook with Small Faces Kenney Jones. The full interview can be read on  Let The Good Times Roll: Kenney Jones Talks (We Are Cult).Similarly, Daily Express quoted an interview I sat with Cold Feet writer Mike Bullen, on behalf of The Digital Fix.  The Jam’s Wikiepdia (Band) references my interview with Drummer Rick Buckler, while there are surfeit references to my essay Timothy Dalton: The Problem Eliminator throughout articles written about Dalton, an essay I wrote to my favourite Bond actor when I was twenty one. My review for Eaten By Lions (2019) was used frequently on their promotional materials.
